LOTS OF MEAT

Korean style pancake
dakgalbi

Namdaemun Market
London Bagel Museum
Cafe Onion
Warm Braun

From Korean fried chicken to bbq and Shabu, lots of the food in Korea includes meat. Although it is absolutely delicious, after traveling so much the past three months and really eating meat almost every day I have completely lost my appetite for it now being back home haha. Regardless, I really enjoyed the food during my two weeks in South Korea. Lots of flavors and different foods to try out, make Korean a great cuisine. Also, Seoul has a coffee shop pretty much at every corner, meaning you have lots of locations to try from. This is ideal since you can also go somewhere new for your morning coffee. Two of my favorite places included cafe onion and warm braun.

EATS – SANTO DOMINGO

Maraca – Zona Colonial
Fried Fish and plantain, Boca Chica
THE lunch spot: D Comer Colonial
Casa Barista
La Cacata Brewery
Corner Cafe
Le petit cyrano
Drinks at Mitre
Dinner at Mitre
O.dette – lunch, dinner drinks
La Alpargateria
Okazu
La Dolcerie
Time Vegetarian Kitchen

Oh how I love to eat and take food pictures. Food is on my mind 24 hours a day haha. During my time in Santo Domingo I got to try lots of different food spots, located all across town. I got to enjoy a range of foods and there is truly a restaurant for everyone. All the above pictured places were some of my favorites and I can recommend going to all of them. The one restaurant that stands out to me is Okazu. They served one of the best cocktails I have ever had, have fantastic waiters and really delicious food. And of course, the vibe is perfect for an evening out. Another favorite of my is Mix Empanadas, located in the colonial zone. I don’t have a photo of the place, but one should definitely go check it out. You can find a range of empanadas with lots of different fillings, even on filled with ricotta cheese and Nutella! Santo Domingo also has lots of places for drinks such as O.dette and La Alpagarteria. A not pictured cocktail bar recommendation is Local 3. On my Instagram as well you can find two guides for food and drinks!

MOUNTAIN FUEL

Homemade ‘bergfood’: Onions, bacon and maultaschen fried in lots of butter

Food food food! This is probably how my mind functions most of the time haha. I love good food and I love to think about good food, especially when I am on the chair lift after finishing a good run down the slopes. We were staying in Campitello di Fassa, a small village in the Dolomites, and it had some great food spots to offer (on the mountain and in the valley). I of course had to have the burrata pizza when I saw it on the menu, and I can tell you I enjoyed it very much. Nothing beats a good Italian pizza with fresh ham, tomatoes, basil and a burrata on top. For good pizza I can recommend Restaurant Tobia and La Stella di Nonno. The latter also has really homemade great pasta and aperol spritz!

Skiing in Italy also means making sure you get that cappuccino. Sitting on the sun deck and having your morning coffee (never have cappuccino after lunch!) while enjoying the view of the mountains is unbeatable. For lunch you can then stop by one of the huts and go for some pasta or like us a classic Austrian mountain meal. This is usually made up of fries, schnitzel, beer, more aperol spritz and kaiserschmarren. These are also some of my favorite meals ahah and I ate all of them during the one week ski trip. 🙂

DINNER ON THE 10TH FLOOR

This might have been the best dinner I have ever had. I was very lucky to be invited to this lovely evening, dine on the 10th floor of the Water Tower in Utrecht and explore the city at night. We had a 4 course menu with the wine pairing along with some freshly toasted bread and home made cream cheese. The meals incorporated new flavor combinations, as well as being very flavorful 🙂 and of course they looked very good. Really great experience!

WINE, LUNCH AND DINNER

The one (technically two) good things you can find in France is its food and wine and I for sure took enough pictures of that. We stuffed ourselves with daily with a lunch made up of cheese, salad and sometimes meat from the grill. We didn’t often get around to dinner because of having an aperitif before, that took all of our appetite. But that was no issue, since olives, salami, melon and bread and spread count as a really good dinner as well haha. We did manage to have one proper dinner/night out in a small town called Martel. I must admit I am not sure what my dinner was, since the menu was in french. However supposedly I ate cheek…?

One afternoon I went for a winery trip with the two dads, as I am attempting to become a sommelier. We tasted one of my favorite red wines yet “Cahors le lac aux cochons 2017” and I also bought myself a rather expensive bottle to bring home. The second winery we visited was Lagrezette, and I must say I was very much impressed by this one. In their wine making process they truly look at all details and ensure to uphold traditions and engage the town in their wine. Supposedly they also make the best Malbec in the world, which of course I got to try 🙂

KOMPAAN BREWERY

Usually you would associate a tasting with wine but here at Kompaan Beer you get to do it with kraft beer. You get a selection of six different IPAs to try and of course you can order very good snacks on the side. Maybe not the healthiest snacks but sometimes enjoying some loaded nachos is right what you need. The place is right by the water in the industrial area of The Hague. If you are looking for a good afternoon activity, this is your place to be!

WINE DATE

There’s no better way to celebrate the cafes and restaurants opening again than by going on a wine date. Luckily, my lovely friend Noor is as much of a wine date lover as me so despite our hurting bank accounts, we decided to go out for a fun afternoon. The place we went to is called Boozy Wine & Food. They have really nice snacks and wine selections, so I would highly recommend going here if you are in The Hague!

GETTING COFFEE IN THE HAGUE

If you know me then you know that I love love getting coffee somewhere. Especially on weekends (when there is free parking in town!!) I always go to probably the best place in The Hague Single Estate Coffee Roasters. You can find me there at least once a week and it’s at the point that my phone even gives me the directions to the cafe like this morning. I always go for the iced lattes with either beans from Costa Rica or Kenya but because its getting colder I’m starting to get more warm drinks. I don’t love warm lattes so I’ll usually get a chai instead. You can get really good chai at House of Tribes and get it with oat milk. It’s much better and creamier. These colorful drinks we had at Secret Garden Bakery. The different colored lattes are really fun and pretty but I think they are too sweet for me and I’ll stick to my iced latte ahah.

Eating in Morocco

Dinner at La Skala, Casablanca
Cooking class @ Lotus Chef School Marrakech

Gooood Evening not from Morocco unfortunately but from my bed. Feeling fresh after my shower and am sipping on my cup of tea. I’ve been putting this blog post of for ages because I’m just so incredibly busy but it makes writing posts kinda fun because I get to look back at all these pics.
You might have been able to tell that the pictures go from morning to evening, which might give you an idea of how much we actually ate this trip….but it was all very yummy! The moroccan mint tea for sure was the highlight and it was literally served it everywhere. Not to forget about the bread, especially when it comes fresh from the oven (community ovens in the medina!!) you can expect it to be extra good. One evening we even got to cook our own moroccan food. Super fun! I was quite surprised that my cooking actually turned out quite good thanks to the sweet chef cook helping us. It was really great to take the class here because the school was all about empowering women through cooking.
